Renuka Chowdhury assumes office as MoS

Smt. Renuka Chowdhury today assumed office as MOS (Independent Charge), Department of Women and Child Development (WCD).
The Secretary (WCD), Smt Reva Nayyar briefed the new Minister about the major schemes and programmes of the Department.
Talking to the media the Minister expressed satisfaction over the recent achievements of the Department, particularly, the expansion of ICDS scheme taking the total number of projects to 6108, Commission for Protection of Child Rights Bill, 2005 passed by the Parliament and the new Rajiv Gandhi National Creche Scheme for Children of Working Mothers.
